For the upcoming year 2022, the Indian stock exchanges — the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE have released a list of holidays on Thursday.
In all, there are 13 holidays in total in 2022, according to the list published on the BSE website. On these holidays the trade will not happen in 2022, in addition to Saturdays and Sundays. No trade will happen on the equity sector, equity derivative segment and SLB segment during these days.
The maximum number of holidays fall in August and October in 2022. In August, on account of Muharram, Independence Day and Ganesh Chaturthi, the market won’t be functional on 09, 15 and 31st August of 2022. Tuesday, Monday and Wednesday are the respective days fall on these dates.
While Dussehra, Diwali and Diwali Balipratipada falls on October 05, 24 and 26 in the upcoming year, during which the Indian stock exchanges will not witness trade.
